Deliverable 7.19: Italian Sub-report on National Methods

This report examines the current landscape of whole life carbon (WLC) assessment in Italy’s built environment. It reviews existing regulations, voluntary initiatives and assessment methodologies, highlighting progress made through recent developments such as updates to Italy’s Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) and the BuildingLife initiative.  

The report identifies key challenges, including data availability and methodological consistency, and underscores the need for greater harmonisation to support comparable WLC assessments, effective policymaking and the decarbonisation of Italy’s building stock.
