The INDICATE Explainer Video

The INDICATE programme explores how to reduce emissions across the whole life cycle of buildings — from construction materials and energy use to renovation and demolition.

Between 2022 and 2024, INDICATE partnered with national authorities in Ireland, the Czech Republic, and Spain to explore how whole life carbon (WLC) can be measured and considered in building policy. This collaboration helped build knowledge, generate data, and inform future pathways for regulation.

Now, through INDICATE LIFE (2024–2026), co-funded by the European Commission, this work is expanding to Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, and Luxembourg.

This explainer video, funded by the Laudes Foundation, highlights how INDICATE is building knowledge, supporting policymakers, and fostering collaboration for a more sustainable built environment in Europe.
