Austrian launch event highlights cross-sector collaboration for sustainable construction
The INDICATE LIFE Austrian national team gathered in Vienna for the project launch event.
The Austrian launch of the INDICATE LIFE in Vienna on 27 February project brought together leading voices from the construction sector to explore how whole life carbon (WLC) data can help shape a more sustainable built environment.
The event featured a series of presentations followed by a panel discussion that showcased diverse perspectives from key stakeholders across the built environment.

Vision for data-driven decarbonisation
Anna-Vera Deinhammer (ÖGNI - Austrian Sustainable Building Council), project leader for the Austrian INDICATE LIFE team, was present at the event and shared the Austrian team’s vision for INDICATE LIFE:
"With INDICATE LIFE, we aim to contribute to a robust Austrian foundation for reliable data that informs well-rounded climate strategies in the construction industry. Transparent, reliable data is the key to effective decarbonisation – both nationally and Europe-wide."
The INDICATE LIFE Austrian Team includes several leading organisations committed to sustainable construction: ÖGNI - Austrian Sustainable Building Council, Technische Universität Graz, ATP sustain and einszueins architektur.
This collaborative initiative represents a significant step forward in establishing data-driven approaches to reducing carbon emissions in Austria's construction sector, with implications for broader European sustainability efforts.
